To do
[edit]Some history, please
[edit]What's the history of the rail system? When was it started? When did steam traction end? What about the issue of the railway land/station in Singapore? What did the Japanese do the railway system during the Occupation? I'd love to know.

Komuter
[edit]The Komuter service between Port Klang and Seremban definitely has to added if anyone wants to do this...Personally think the Mid Valley station has proven that a public train terminal at a mall outside of the goldern triangle is a workable idea and is a first in Malaysia.--Malbear 02:56, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Actually the Komuter services are:
- Port Klang - KL Sentral - Sentul
- Rawang - KL Sentral - Seremban
- -- sabre23t 08:17, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- The two KTM Komuter lines have by convention been identified with their two end-stations, hence Sentul-Port Klang and Rawang-Seremban, despite the names not being immediately obvious that they also serve Kuala Lumpur.

Station Listing
[edit]Instead of listing the stations, a map should be much clearer.
Gauge
[edit]Surely the article should tell us what gauge the railway uses! Thortful 06:57, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
- It does: The 1000 mm gauge railway network... Jpatokal 14:47, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
Bias towards passenger services
[edit]I can't help commenting the amount of overemphasis on passenger train services, since the tracks are still used for freight transport. Where is detailed information on the service's history? What is the type of goods transported? What is the rolling stock and freight cars used? And freight stops? -Two hundred percent 06:43, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- Looks like the problem has been addressed somewhat. OK. Good job. - Two hundred percent 06:06, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
Name in italics?
[edit]I do not think Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad should be in italics although it is not in English as it is a proper noun. If it has to be in italics, then Kuala Lumpur and Kota Bharu would also have to be in italics, as they both have English equivalents.Slleong 14:31, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Japanese steam locomotives in Malaya
[edit]I have traced the fate of the Japanese steam locomotives added to the stock during the World War Two. The question is of the following locomotives which according to the Japanese sources were sent to Malaya in 1942:
C 58 40 1C1-h2 Kawa 2003 1938 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 42 1C1-h2 Kawa 2005 1938 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 44 1C1-h2 Kawa 2026 1938 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 45 1C1-h2 Kawa 2027 1938 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 55 1C1-h2 Kawa 2041 1938 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 67 1C1-h2 Kawa 2078 1939 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 73 1C1-h2 Kawa 2084 1939 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 91 1C1-h2 KSK 1636 1938 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 94 1C1-h2 KSK 1639 1938 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 131 1C1-h2 KSK 1746 1939 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 133 1C1-h2 KSK 1748 1939 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
C 58 138 1C1-h2 KSK 1753 1939 For Singapore - Bangkok military train service
Kawa = Kawasaki
KSK = Kisha Seiko Kaisha
After the war nothing has been heard of these Japanese locomotives. Where did they dissapear? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.112.92.186 (talk) 21:17, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
- Given Thailand was Imperial Japan's ally while the trains were in service in Thailand and Malaya (Singapore included), it's hard to pinpoint which country they ended up in (Thailand or Malaya). It would be helpful to look up materials from both countries for confirmation, maybe dig up something from their national archives. - Two hundred percent (talk) 09:52, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:LogoKTM.gif
[edit]Image:LogoKTM.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
