[edit]I've put Michael Foale before Tennyson, not because I think he's more important, just that Foale was born in Louth but Tennyson wasn't. Dupont Circle 18:11, 30 Jan 2005 (UTC)
A little-known piece of trivia: The new metal strips showing the Greenwich Meridian Line do not line up with the older plaque [sic?] next to Moby Dick's fish and chips shop. This is probably because the plaque [sic?] would be on the glass door if it was positioned absolutely correctly. It may also be due to inaccurate measurement. --80.229.152.246 19:25, 11 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- Louth Grammar School changed to King Edward VI Grammar School, as this is its proper title.

I removed the Barton Street link that lead confusingly to the Wikipedia article on Barton St., London. Isn't the Louth street an old Roman roadway? Melangell 06:31, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
think Barton Street is a prehistoric Track not roman
Ludensians etc
[edit]Reverted the removal of most of the famous inhabitants of Louth; this needs discussion before it is enacted. List needs clean-up but not such drastic action, which removes many points of interest from the article. N.B. Ludensians *not* restricted to those born in Louth, as per reverted edit: see the 'Old Ludensians' (ex-Grammar school) etc etc. (although I'm pretty sure Ludensians are named after the Latin name of the town (Lude/Luda), not the river...) Coat of Arms
[edit]Does anyone know anything about this?
We may go back to London by Louth, famous for its church, spire, and comical coat of arms; {209}

Etymology of "Louth"?
[edit]Does anybody know the origin of this placename? The Irish town and county of the same name, County Louth, derives from the Celtic God Lugh. Any connection? 89.101.41.216 (talk) 20:08, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
- A Mr S. Potts also thinks the name is derived from the same Celtic god, if I am safe to assume Lugas is Lugus and also Lugh, see Ludborough Parish Council.Lacunae (talk) 21:01, 18 January 2014 (UTC)
The name Louth derives from Hlud or Loud — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.19.199.220 (talk) 19:41, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
