User talk:FightDemBack
Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. You might like to start by reading the tutorial and introducing yourself at the new users page. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Two useful tips are that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) and you can preview your changes before you save using the show preview button. You can regularly find new tips on the Community Portal. I look forward to reading your great articles and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. Cheers, Willmcw 07:42, Apr 29, 2005 (UTC)
PS, please do sign your talk page contributions. -W.
- Pictures, as with all material, must be reasonably available under applicable copyrights. If you are the copyright holder then you can simply grant usage under GFDL or public domain. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags (All you have to do is add {{GFDL}} in the summary box when you upload) If not, you may be able to use them under the Fair Use exception, which particularly applies to news photos and low-quality copies that are being used as the basis of discussion. The mechanism is simple, just click on the "upload file" link on the left of the screen. As for adding them to the page, the easiest thing is to copy what has already been done before, simply look at how other images have been incorporated. Let me know if I can help further. Two pictures of the NZNF would seem especially worthwhile: the one where they are holding up a banner and saluting; and the one where they are standing around in some town square sculpture (because it has several key personnel). But you know best what pictures are available. Finally, I'd urge you not to make this personal with Molloy. While I understand that your goal outside of Wikipedia is to fight the NZNF, inside Wikipedia we should all have the common goal of creating an encyclopedia. Let's try not to make this into a battleground. Cheers, -Willmcw 08:10, Apr 29, 2005 (UTC)
- Excuse me for coming along behind you, but that was a bit much. Note that a more extensive caption can be added on the picture's page. In this case, a picture says a thousand words so it isn't necessary to say much more. If a photo is on-the-loose, I think that "fair use" is probably a better category, but I may be wrong. I also rewrote the Fight Dem Back reference (not you, the blog) to what I hope will be a less contentious version. Cheers, -Willmcw 10:26, Apr 30, 2005 (UTC)
Other projects
[edit]FYI, you may not know (or care), but there is a New Zealand Wikipedians' notice board where editors come together to discuss issues of mutual interest. -Willmcw 18:02, May 4, 2005 (UTC)
I just saw this: Australia Antifa Target Of Nazi Hit List Many eyes on are you - keep up the good work. Cheers, -Willmcw 06:10, Jun 10, 2005 (UTC)
I guess the fact that FDB uses their own hitlist to unleash a campaign of smear and blackmail will go unreported. - Unsigned Comment
- Sorry, what was that, Jase? FDB reports retrospectively on the illegal activities of the far-right - the names of the people involved are published as well as photos if required.
You'll notice that this is NOT UNLIKE WHAT A NEWSPAPER WOULD DO IF REPORTING SOMETHING.
Ben Weerhym/Redwatch Downunder, on the other hand, plans to post the addresses and other details of anti-racism activists with an intention of causing them PHYSICAL HARM. This is not even apples and oranges, mate, this is fruit and household appliances. THERE IS NO COMPARISON. FightDemBack 19:54, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Would you mind posting some examples of "illegal activity" Jason Molloy took part in to justify you posting his name and picture all over the internet? Don't bother including the bogus threats made by an impersonator a random music site. - ATS
- And if you're wondering, I'm not Jason, I'm his flatmate. I agree with a lot of what he says (when he's sobor at least), as a lot of it is just common sence. I'm Maori so don't even bother calling me racist. Jas says he loves diversity, and the only way it can exsist is for certain groups to remain segregated. Imagine a melting pot world 5 generations down the track, with one race & one bland culture, how boring would that be! True diversity only develops and exists through segregation. Look how the immigration of Pakeha has been detrimental to Maori culture, indeed, the only way the language and arts stay alive is through heavy government funding. - ATS
- There seem to be a number of Molloy impersonators around. It's getting hard to know who one is talking to. Regardless, please try to keep your outside interactions out of Wikipedia. We should all be here only to make a better encyclopedia. Thanks, -Willmcw 05:45, Jun 25, 2005 (UTC)
- ATS, I don't think Jason would appreciate you doing this, so you should probably stop. Cheers! FightDemBack 11:36, 25 Jun 2005 (UTC)
