"Where Did You Sleep Last Night?"

[edit]

Hey there, Cryptico. Thanks for your edit over at Mark Lanegan, but "Where Did you Sleep Last Night" is not a traditional folk song as some people believe; it was written by Huddie Ledbetter, aka Leadbelly, probably in the 1930s. Fernando Rizo 9 July 2005 16:26 (UTC)

Oops, I stand corrected:) Cryptico 9 July 2005

Notability of Blandine Bury

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Blandine Bury, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Blandine Bury seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Blandine Bury, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 03:47, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Reshma Dordi

[edit]

I've nominated Reshma Dordi, an article you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but in this particular case I do not feel that Reshma Dordi satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion; I have explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Reshma Dordi and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Reshma Dordi during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Andrew_pmk | Talk 06:15, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Cryptico! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to these articles, it would greatly help us with the current 710 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Teresa Lourenco - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. Tawny Little - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Alex Steele. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. The article Crystal Klein has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:PORNBIO, WP:ENT, and the GNG. No nontrivial GNews or GBooks hits. Non-US editions of Playboy are generally not under the notable magazine's editorial control, but merely license the brand/trademarks for independent publishing use; by consensus, their playmates do not have a status making a significant contribution to notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
