[edit]Many errors/irreleveant information here. If no one does it, maybe I'll fix it. The stadium was destroyed in 1999, BTW. --Feitclub 01:36, Sep 13, 2004 (UTC)

revision done, but needs more sources
[edit]I've been working on this article off and on for months now and it looks to be in pretty good shape now (if I say so meself :). The only problem is finding more references. I know a lot of the info to be true from personal experience (the heat, the crowned field, the concrete, etc.) but can't find online sources for some of the details. Any help would appreciated, because otherwise, my obsession is going to drive me to the back corner of the library to look up newspaper articles on microfiche, and that'd just be embarassing.
Thanks in advance... Zeng8r (talk) 16:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, at long last, my work here is done. The article still could use more references, and I welcome anybody with good research skills and plenty of free time to go find them... Zeng8r (talk) 02:55, 26 July 2011 (UTC)
Another little remembered sports event
[edit]In addition to all the sports events mentioned in the main article, Tampa Stadium was also home to an annual high school rivalry, between Hillsborough HS and Henry B Plant HS (both of Tampa, on opposite ends of town). This annual football rivalry was played on Thanksgiving Day. The reason it ended up at Tampa Stadium is that it was originally played at Phillips Field (near downtown), but that field became disused when University of Tampa moved their football events to Tampa Stadium. The first year for this high school use was around 1971, and probably did not last long due to the arrival of the NFL expansion team. The Thanksgiving Day event used to fill a respectable part of Phillips Field, but barely made use of the much larger Tampa Stadium. Cosmicray (talk) 01:20, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
