The result of the debate was: it was moved—jiy (talk) 18:02, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
I don't think "Archie Hamilton" is his best known name. In his constituency (where I grew up) and in Westminster politics in the late 1990s I recall him always being known as "Sir Archibald Hamilton". Can I suggest we move this page to Archibald Hamilton? -- Timrollpickering Feb 8, 2004 22:31 UTC
- Done. Morwen 22:32, Feb 8, 2004 (UTC)
- Having said that, though... Google UK gives 20 hits for "Archibald Hamilton MP", but 71 for "Archie Hamilton MP". I'm surprised by the comment above, as I've certainly heard "Archie" much more than "Archibald". Loganberry 01:28, 12 May 2005 (UTC)
Googling for "Archie Hamilton" Epsom v "Archibald Hamilton" Epsom, and "Archie Hamilton" MP v "Archibald Hamilton" MP is even more conclusive - about 7,000 to a few hundred. I'll put in a move request for this to go back to Archie Hamilton. sjorford →•← 13:05, 24 Jun 2005 (UTC)

- Support move to Archie Hamilton; failing that, we sometimes use Knighthood styles etc. to disambiguate, so Sir Archibald Hamilton. James F. (talk) 1 July 2005 18:17 (UTC)
- Support move back to Archie Hamilton; but this will require an admin --Lox (t,c) 22:24, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
- Please move it away from "(1941 -)", be it only to "(born 1941)" (usual format for year of birth). -- User:Docu

Article style and content
[edit]This page is very badly written, and surely doesn't conform to the general Wikipedia style. It's more like a list than an actual biography, suggesting someone who knows the man personally has just added bits to it. TrottieTrue (talk) 00:15, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
