"Sexism"?
[edit]I don't know who put that there, but personal opinions upon comments ought to be excluded from Wikipedia. 71.245.6.175 07:43, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
You're right. I rewrote this sentence. Aalolzore (talk) 03:35, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Coin weight
[edit]Is it conceivable that a coin would weigh 143 grams? I guess this should be 1.43 grams.
- 14.3 grammes would be more credible, although a little on the heavy side. The contemporary British penny coin was the same diameter (31mm) and weighed 9.4 grammes. -- Arwel 19:32, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
- Actually I checked this one up and it appears that i took the value from the wrong paragraph or the formatting is incorrect in the act [1]. Will update as soon as confirmed, within a day. Djegan 19:46, 2 May 2005 (UTC)
Arrowhead
[edit]The hen on the penny is not holding an arrowhead - the object that is reported as an arrowhead is the lower edge of the far wing of the hen. Looking at an example of the coin from the 1928-1937 design this is very clear but in the modified design used from 1938 (pattern) until 1968 it is less clear that it is the far wing and does appear like an arrowhead.
This section of the text in the main article was taken verbatim from my own web page on the coin where I made this error - I have since corrected it and am now trying to correct the places where the information had been copied.

- Looking at the image it appears that something is been clutched, perhaps sources? Djegan 22:02, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well yes, "it appears that something is been clutched", but that's the nature of illusion - the lower edge of the far wing is visible behind the claw - this appears uncommonly like the hen is clutching an arrow head - but it is only an illusion. There is nothing being clutched, nor is there intended to be.Johnsl 16;58, 09 January 2009 (UTC)
