I have a very limited knowledge of Teddlie, but gleaned several items from searching the web. Some of his songs were and are popular among the churches where I grew up. His main influence was among the Churches of Christ, but he was important to the entire southern shape note tradition. I just wanted to start something. It needs a lot of work and additions, but maybe this gives something to work with for someone more familiar with his life and labors. I would encourage someone like that to improve this article. - Rlvaughn 03:48, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I've added a few things. One might have to resort to getting information from books. Little has been published online.--Johnnybegood12 (talk) 17:31, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

CONNECTION TO MY FAMILY

[edit]

I GREW UP IN THE CHURCH OF CHRIST IN FARMERS BRANCH TX. FOR MANY YEARS WHEN MY GREAT GRANDMOTHER AND I SANG ANY T.S.TEDDLIE SONG SHE ALWAYS COMMENTED THAT SHE HAD BEEN FRIENDS WITH THE GOOD MAN...MY GREAT GRAND MOTHER WAS MARY LEE CARVER FROM RUSSELVILLE, KENTUCKY AND SHE CAME HERE TO TEXAS VIA HORSE AND WAGON IN THE YOUNG 1900's. THEY SETTLED FOR YEARS SOMEWHERE ELSE IN TEXAS BEFORE COMING TO FARMERS BRANCH. IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN MY CURIOSITY TO FIND OUT IF MY GRAND MOTHERS INTUITIONS WERE CORRECT. IF THE NAME IS FAMILIAR TO ANYONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW. CONTACT AT ARTISTCAPE@GMAIL.COM — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.96.232.63 (talk) 22:43, 21 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
