[edit]The main role of a trainer is to give knowledge to the participants of a training. This requires mainly good presentation skills and knowledge on the topic as well as on how people learn best. The role of a facilitator is more to ease (=facilitate) a process like a discussion, a meeting of decision makers or a self driven learning process.
"Legal Facilitator" is another type, most common in Family Law, as well as any other legal negotiation, for example, Wills and Estates.24.69.202.77 21:41, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
New title for this article
[edit]I've renamed the former "Facilitator (business)" article to "Facilitator." My reasoning is that facilitators are used in a wide variety of group settings, not just in business. This allows the article to be broadened somewhat and makes a better link from articles such as Group dynamics, Group process, Consensus decision-making, etc. Sunray 01:20, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
Facilitator!
[edit]What is another word for a facilitator??
Please reply asap as it is driving me crazy! lol —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.207.238.143 (talk) 14:27, 3 January 2007 (UTC).
- In French the word animateur / animatrix is used I believe. Lumos3 15:19, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
Spam External links
[edit]The external links section is getting large by Wikipedia standards . See Wikipedia:External links. I suggest the number be kept to 5 at max and one of these is the appropriate link to the Open Directory Project (also known as DMOZ). Any link selling services or training should go. Professional membership links should stay. Any comments? Lumos3 23:16, 18 February 2007 (UTC)
Consensus is not an aim for all
[edit]I am a facilitator, and I don't care about the Consensus, it is one of the results that can happen if I use some of my tools, but some others of my tools that I favour do not promise any consensus!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 157.157.228.32 (talk) 17:44, 17 May 2010 (UTC)
