Wiki Project Medicine: restructuring and expanding the article
[edit]Hello all, I am planning to restructure and expand this article. I plan to remove less relevant information in the introduction and divide the information into sections according to the Wikipedia manual of style for medicine-related articles. The sections I plan to add are contraindications, risks and complications, surgical technique (radical vs partial, male and female considerations), postoperative care/recovery. I also plan to briefly mention urinary diversion/reconstruction with links to appropriate pages. Msmith191 (talk) 19:06, 10 January 2018 (UTC)
Peer-Review- I think there has been vast improvement to the article. The risks and complications have been improved the information is laid out in the standard wikipedia medicine article fashion and citations have been updated. Your plan was followed and successfully executed. The only section I believe that could use some additions is: linking out to bladder cancer in the malignancy section, adding to the ileus section about narcotics being a factor, and adding to the contraindications portion. I think this article has been successfully updated and look forward to it improving throughout time. Thank you for all the hard work.TimFutureSurgeon (talk) 19:55, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
I added a few short sentences comparing open surgery and robotic cystectomy. I also added information on the impact of different nutrition interventions on post-op complications. All of this information is paraphrased and cited from Cochrane review articles. --Gsom12812 (talk) 21:43, 27 February 2021 (UTC)
