[edit]The informal explanation of how to pronounce this name needs to be replaced by a pronunciation guide using the IPA Halidecyphon 15:13, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC)
Maybe so, but does anybody know enough about the IPA to do this? PatGallacher 16:00, 2005 Jun 15 (UTC)
I've inserted it. The only problem is that I don't know the standard template which should be used here. Adam78 18:00, 15 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Unfortunately this doesn't come out properly on my screen, mostly a series of squares. Anyway some people may not be familiar with IPA. I've therefore decided to go for both approaches. PatGallacher 16:23, 2005 Jun 17 (UTC)
I've found the Wikipedia policy about pronunciation mark: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (pronunciation). It says, "Ad-hoc pronunciation guides are discouraged." So I'll revert the change and insert a standard template into the article. Adam78 17:19, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Do we have clear authority for what her formal citizenship currently is? PatGallacher (talk) 11:25, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
As her website uses the Anglicised form of her name it seems that this is how she now prefers to be known (possibly reinforced by the fact that she is now living in an English-speaking city) so should we refer to her as such, moving this page? PatGallacher (talk) 09:59, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Sexist quote?
[edit]The quote from Korchnoi at the end seems pointless and sexist. However active Korchnoi is today, he is also 80 years old. Meanwhile, Ms. Polgar is no longer playing tournament chess at all. It's not like it was any great rivalry, so why? --96.233.92.199 (talk) 14:17, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
There are indications that she has recently moved back to Israel, anyone know any more? PatGallacher (talk) 12:33, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
