Similiar articles in German Wikipedia

[edit]

There is a similiar article concerning Germany's tallest constructions on http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_h%C3%B6chsten_Bauwerke_der_einzelnen_Bundesl%C3%A4nder_in_Deutschland and concerning many states http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_der_h%C3%B6chsten_Bauwerke_einzelner_Staaten . Why do not make such lists for the different provinces of Australia, New Zealand, South Afrika, Great Britain, Ireland and Kanada? Would be very interesting!

Height of KLDE Tower

[edit]

Which is the correct height of KLDE Tower? If 609.3 metres (FCC-entry) is incorrect, than quote the source!

Split

[edit]

I have just moved the second list to List of tallest structures in the United States by height. Someone more familiar with the content and context might want to check both pages. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 20:35, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you suggesting that in this article (List of tallest structures in the United States) the structures are not compared by height? To my understanding, if the list is about 'tallest' then it's always by height. Or this should be renamed to something like by state. 82.141.127.5 (talk) 15:29, 16 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Tallest structure in Puerto Rico

[edit]

The US Navy has a VLF-transmitter on Puerto Rico at Aguada. Is its mast taller than the masts at Cayey. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.46.232.31 (talk) 19:37, 2 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Height of WRAL_HDTV_Mast

[edit]

Whis is the correct height of WRAL_HDTV_Mast? On this page it states 2000 ft, but on the WRAL_HDTV_Mast page it states 629 m which is 2069 ft, making it tied for tallest structure. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.162.227.155 (talk) 10:58, 26 October 2009 (UTC) FCC page, WRAL HAAT - 629 meters - http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/tvq?call=WRAL-TV, or 631 m - http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/haat_calculator?dlat=35&mlat=40&slat=29.000000&ns=N&dlon=78&mlon=31&slon=40.000000&ew=W&nad=27&rcamsl=708.6&nradials=360&terdb=1[reply]

Stratosphere Tower a building?

[edit]

There reads in the header: A common misperception is that landmarks such as the Stratosphere Tower are the tallest United States structures, but they are in fact the tallest buildings.
Actually, there is a note in List of tallest buildings in Las Vegas: A. According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, freestanding observation towers are not considered to be buildings, as they are not fully habitable structures. This structure is included for comparative purposes.
So, Stratosphere Tower is not either: not a building at all and not the tallest structure. However, according to that same article, Stratosphere Tower is the Tallest observation tower in the United States. 82.141.64.25 (talk) 23:06, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

tallest non-mast in Puerto Rico?

[edit]

What is the tallest non-mast in Puerto Rico? The list's PR section only has masts, and List of tallest buildings by U.S. state does not include Puerto Rico at all. 85.217.14.230 (talk) 12:50, 2 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Royal Gorge Bridge is a Suspension Bridge

[edit]

In the category of highest bridges in the United States, the Royal Gorge Bridge is a suspension bridge, just like the Golden Gate Bridge. I'm not sure that the Golden Gate Bridge should be completely removed from the list, though, since the Royal Gorge Bridge is largely a tourist attraction and generally has handled very little other traffic.

Nevertheless, this conflict needs to be resolved. X5dna (talk) 11:39, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
