Surely several of these are ska, not reggae? Deb 18:15, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Agreed. Removed some. Tuf-Kat 19:47, Dec 15, 2003 (UTC)

Isn't this a list of musicians? Looks like a list of bands. I was about to add a bunch of musicians, then didn't. Heidimo

Perhaps it should be moved to artists or performers, though I don't think this title is bad. I don't think most people associate musician with an individual performer, and wouldn't be surprised to see bands on this list, which should have both solo and group performers. Tuf-Kat 06:06, Dec 16, 2003 (UTC)
Makes sense. So, individual musicians don't go here, only solo performers and bands? I associate musician with musician myself, so would support the kind of change you suggest as a possiblity, preferably "artist." Heidimo

Queen

[edit]

I'm removing Queen (band) from the list. Not being a fan I don't know if they ever made any reggae songs but I would argue that, even if they did, they are not primarily known as reggae musicians and so don't belong on this list. Equally if the Queen (band) meant is another unknown reggae act then it still doesn't belong here as it is linking to the article about Freddie Mercury et al. There again perhaps it was just vandalism but I felt I needed to explain my reasoning just in case. Keresaspa (talk) 17:00, 25 April 2010 (UTC) YOU FORGOT TO SONG ARTIST ON THE LIST THAT I NOTICED N ABOUT TWO MINUTES HA. RAS MATTHEWS, TONTO IRIE.[reply]

The Clash and other Reggae bands

[edit]

I added The Clash, The Police, The Ruts, Bad Brains, and The Slits to the list. All of them have been very important to the genre, and helped spreading Reggae music and its sub-derivative genres (such as Dub, Ragga[muffin], Reggae Fusion, and etcetera) in their own country and/or worldwide. –pjoef (talkcontribs) 11:02, 15 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Why isn't Lucky Dube and Jah Vinci included in the list of names of reggae artists Melanin Sky (talk) 18:00, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
