The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.
- LARGE PORTIONS OF THIS PAGE ARE LIFTED DIRECTLY FROM [1] and several of the pictures are of totally different places, and therefore mislabeled. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.16.79.20 (talk) 06:37, 4 June 2009 (UTC)
Murray
[edit]It should be noted that Murray Middle School is on the base. What I mean is this: it's easily accessible (I went there for my middle school years) but it isn't shown to be on the base. Should it be fixed or no? Drakonis 15:55, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned references in Ridgecrest, California
[edit]I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Ridgecrest, California's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
Reference named "nhlsum":

- From Walker Pass: NHL Summary
- From Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake: "Coso Rock Art District". National Historic Landmark summary listing. National Park Service. Retrieved 2007-11-17.
I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT⚡ 07:16, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

More of the Good Stuff
[edit]I would love to see some EPA stats on air quality, and perhaps any environmental impact that the adjacent military base has on the community. Any ideas where to go after that kind of data? Hamster Sandwich (talk) 01:55, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

Revisions
[edit]Various edits have been made by various editors to bring this article closer to the norms for city articles, as found in the examples of other articles and in the Wikipedia:WikiProject Cities/Guideline. Which of those changes are problematic? Will Beback talk 00:56, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Temp Gauge is off...
[edit]I lived in Ridgecrest for 15 years (1990-2005) and in that time frame I know for a fact that temperatures have exceeded 122 degrees. I know it's a small detail and of little importance, but I have worked plenty of days in that hot sun where the temp was over 125 and up to 130. I've cooked eggs and pizzas in a box lined with aluminum foil on the side-walk when i was a child, and I know I'm not the only one who can verify this. Simply living there and owning a digital thermometer can show that Ridgecrest averaged over 100 consecutive days over 100 degrees during that entire time-frame, and that it hasn't been until recently that the temperatures have begun to drop oddly enough.

- The source is Weather.com.[2] I don't think it's an official weather source. In fact, I believe they estimate some of these values. The folks at China Lake probably keep good weather records, but they probably don't share them. Will Beback talk 03:15, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
I know that the official records for August at KNID (NAWS, CHina Lake) will show a 119 maximum for that month, too. August 3,1993 48.3°C cited at http://www.tutiempo.net/en/Climate/China_Lake_Naval_Air_Facility/08-1993/746120.htm That is the all time high. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.16.144.242 (talk) 22:13, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- August 1993 record verify that
The record they cited https://wrcc.dri.edu/cgi-bin/cliMAIN.pl?ca1733 clearly show that August 119°F day as does Farmers Almanac (enter 93555 and Aug 3 1993). The NOAA records say August 2 NOAA NWS records. Those are the government official records, though. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rinkevichjm (talk • contribs) 07:25, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
