plays Lucifer
[edit]I removed this: "Latter-day Saints who have been to the temple will recognize him as one of the actors who plays Lucifer." I'm assuming it's talking about the endowment video, but I've not been endowed, so I don't know. I'm not so confident it's relevant or appropriate here. Cookiecaper 00:15, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Ballam's role as Lucifer in one of the temple films is definitely one of the things he's best known for within the LDS community. Is there a non-offensive way to mention it?
- I've put the Lucifer reference back in, this time in more direct language so those who have not been endowed don't have to guess at the meaning. It contributes hugely to his notability in LDS circles, and I think it belongs in the article. Pterodactyler 16:36, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
- How about this: "Ballam is widely recognized among Latter-day Saints because of an appearance in a video shown in LDS temples." A10brown (talk) 14:51, 2 October 2009 (UTC)
Anyone have a wp:RS reference for this? -- 208.81.184.4 (talk) 17:09, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
NPOV? Reads like promo material
[edit]This article sounds like Michael Ballam himself wrote it! (Those who know or have met him, will know what I'm talking about. :) ) In other words, it does not read like a Wikipedia article... it sounds more like someone is trying to sell Michael Ballam to us. - 97.117.57.136 (talk) 20:03, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you go to his personal page listed in the external links, you'll see that his bio is almost exactly the same... just longer. It's no surprise given how much he loves to talk about himself. Also, the thing about his lectures being highly popular is... questionable to say the least. I took Creative Arts 1330 at USU with him a few years ago and... well... let's just say that I was grateful when I got swine flu so that I didn't have to go to his class. I know I'm not the only former student to feel that way. 67.186.192.21 (talk) 03:28, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
